Cudahy police: Suspect arrested following Packard Avenue incident
CUDAHY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A man has been arrested following an incident on Packard Avenue Wednesday, Oct. 27.
Officials say they received a report around 12:20 p.m. regarding a 33-year-old man who threatened to shoot the police, himself and another individual at a residence on Packard Avenue.
The caller reported seeing a gun at the residence within the past week.
Police made telephone contact with the subject, who threatened to shoot police and said he was armed with a handgun and rifle.
Authorities communicated the circumstances to local businesses and the School District of Cudahy, also asking the public to avoid the 5100-5400 blocks of S. Packard Avenue.
An investigation indicated that the suspect had left the residence prior to police arrival.
At 3:53 p.m., a St. Francis police officer observed the vehicle suspected to contain the 33-year-old man.
Officers responded to the area near Plankinton and Kinnickinnic and conducted a high-risk traffic stop.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
Police say charges will be pending with the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
The incident remains under investigation.
