MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An April Fools' joke is becoming a reality for one day only.
Culver's is making many fans' dreams come true on National Cheese Curd Day, Friday, Oct. 15.
A very limited supply of "CurderBurgers" will be available at Culver's locations. The Wisconsin fast food chain created National Cheese Curd Day back in 2015.
Now they are ready to release the burger after thousands signed a petition to make the April Fools' joke a real burger.
"It got me thinking why couldn't we? So the team got together and started working and created exactly what the guests asked for," Quinn Adkins, director of menu development, said.
"This is something I started as a laugh with my friends and family and before I knew it, they were sharing it and other people were sharing it and people I didn't even know were signing it, promoting the petition," Jerry Behrendt, petition creator, said. "I started getting phone calls from people saying they were promoting it on the local radio station. It was all a little surreal."
The burger starts as a Culver's deluxe burger topped with a burger-sized fried cheese curd.
