Cyndi Lauper to bring farewell tour to Milwaukee on Aug. 3

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) Pop star Cyndi Lauper is set to bring her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour to Milwaukee this summer. The performance will take place Sunday, Aug. 3 at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater as part of a 25-city North American tour.

Lauper, a Grammy, Emmy and Tony Award-winning artist, has sold more than 50 million records worldwide. Her debut album, "She’s So Unusual," made history as the first debut by a woman to have four top-five Billboard Hot 100 singles.

She has released ten additional studio albums, won awards for her work on Broadway’s "Kinky Boots," and was recently nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025.

She is best known for a string of Billboard Top 40 hits throughout the 1980 such as "Time After Time" (chart-topper in 1984), "True Colors" (chart-topper in 1986), "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" (No. 2 in 1984), "She Bop" (No. 3 in 1984), "Change of Heart" (No. 3 in 1987), "All Through the Night" (No. 5 in 1984), "I Drove All Night" (No. 6, in 1989), "The Goonies ‘R’ Good Enough" (No. 10 in 1985).

Jake Wesley Rogers will open the show. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 14, at 10 a.m.
