Davante Adams, Packers reportedly break off long-term extension talks per NFL insider

GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Another star Green Bay Packers player is reportedly at odds with the team, according to a report from a top NFL insider. Wide receiver Davante Adams and the Packers have broken off long-term extension talks, according to a report on Friday, July 23 by Ian Rapoport.

Rapoport, a National Insider for NFL Network and NFL.com. tweeted Friday, "There are no current plans to resume them. The two sides have been negotiating for months, but they are now in a bad place, sources say."

The NFL insider added in a follow-up tweet that  "The #Packers and Davante Adams’ reps worked behind the scenes to get a deal done. The proposals have not acknowledged Adams as the highest paid WR, sources say. Green Bay’s classic structure has led to limited options. Now, talks are off with just a few days to go before camp."

This is the latest dispute between a Packers player and the organization as the feud between MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers continues to roll on with training camp starting less than a week away.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
