Heat, humidity, storm chances before State Fair
SHOREWOOD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Wisconsin Democratic Party launched a summer canvassing effort in the Milwaukee area on Saturday, July 13.
State Party Chair Ben Wilker was in Shorewood this morning to rally volunteers before they went out to knock on doors, hand out literature, and encourage voters to vote for Democrats this fall.
Wilker says they chose Shorewood because the area has been trending blue in the last few elections.
"We're actually knocking on doors all across the state of Wisconsin today, but I wanted to be here in Shorewood because this is one of those places that will the entire state in the state that will tip the entire presidential election," said Wilker.
Today's canvassing was part of a wider campaign to get out the vote for Democrats this fall. Last month, state Democrats made over 250,000 phone calls, texts and door knocks across Wisconsin.
