MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Bucks assistant coach Sidney Dobner has made history being the first female to hold that role on the team and it's not the first barrier she's broken.

Last week, the Milwaukee Bucks moved Dobner up the bench from head video coordinator to assistant coach. A dream come true for Dobner.

"It kind of just doesn't feel real yet," said Dobner.

According to new Bucks Head Coach Adrian Griffin, once Dobner heard of the open position, she quickly took the opportunity into her own hands.

"Her taking the initiative to say, 'I can do the job,' and she can. You know I've leaned on her a great deal," said Griffin.

A couple of months back, CBS 58 sat down with Dobner about the first glass ceiling she broke when she became the first female video head coordinator for the Bucks.

She said opening door for other women is just a cherry on top of doing what she loves every day.

"Breaking the ceiling is like a bonus that’s just something you don't imagine that you're going to be able to do but somebody has to be the first and I'm very thankful that this organization given me the opportunity to be that person," said Dobner.

Coach Griffin said it’s a seat Dobner earned.

"It was three things that I look for and I said this in my press conference when I took the job is high character, highly competent, and creative coaching and she meets the profile for all three," said Griffin.

Dobner said she's determined to show the team what she's got and where they can go.

"We're here to win a championship and if I can do anything to help that I'm going to do it."

Dobner is currently helping coach the summer league for the Milwaukee Bucks.
