DoorDash provides $150K in local grants to help Milwaukee restaurants

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --- DoorDash announced it will provide $150,000 in COVID-19 relief grants to help Milwaukee restaurants Wednesday, Jan. 27.

This is part of DoorDash's latest Main Street Strong effort that will support restaurants as they continue to recover from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Restaurants will be able to apply to recieve a $5,000 grant to be used to offset costs associated with the pandemic.

“DoorDash is an organization that understands the importance of investing in local businesses and helping strengthen communities,” said Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett. “Through its Main Street Strong Pledge, DoorDash is offering 30 $5,000 grants to Milwaukee restaurant owners to help them weather the COVID-19 pandemic. This funding complements the work of the City of Milwaukee’s Restart program, which has utilized CARES Act funding to support hundreds of small businesses across the city.”

Applications are available today through February 17th, 2021, and selected restaurants will be notified by March 1, 2021. Distributions will begin in March.
