MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Pewaukee man has been charged in the July death of a Milwaukee pedestrian, 62-year-old Gregory Skaar, who was hit near Astor and Ogden.

According to a criminal complaint filed Monday, Oct. 13 in Milwaukee County Circuit Court, 59-year-old Roland Kuenn faces two felony counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.

The complaint says Kuenn was driving west on E. Ogden at around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9 when his Toyota Corolla hit Skaar, who was crossing the street at N. Astor. Witnesses reportedly told officials that the driver did not stop at the sign and accelerated before the crash.

Video reviewed by investigators showed the car slowing slightly, then speeding through the intersection before hitting the victim, who died later that night at Froedtert Hospital.

Also mentioned in the complaint, state crime lab analyst estimated Kuenn’s blood alcohol level was between 0.10 and 0.14 at the time of the crash. Court records show he was previously convicted of operating while intoxicated in 1998 in Waukesha County.
