Driver extricated from crash, dog uninjured near Chicago and College

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A man had to be extricated from a car after a crash involving two passenger vehicles at the intersection of North Chicago and College Avenues Saturday, Aug. 8.

According to South Milwaukee Fire Department, the driver was extricated using the Jaws of Life and was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

In a Facebook post, officials say the man's dog was in the backseat "tethered with a harness" and survived the impact of the crash with no injuries.

"This serves as a very important reminder to do your pets a favor," the post reads. "Make sure they are safe when traveling with you."
