Driver killed after vehicle collides with train in Kenosha County

KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A fatal car versus train accident is currently under investigation in Kenosha County.

Authorities were called to the crash around 1:10 p.m. Thursday at a railroad crossing in the area of 258th Avenue and the Canadian National Railroad Tracks.

The investigation revealed that a Canadian National Train was southbound with 103 railroad cars when it collided with a vehicle at a private crossing just north of 258th Avenue.

Motorists are asked to avoid the crossings near 264th Avenue in the Camp Lake Area for the next several hours.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
