MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Hundreds of people made some room for their Thanksgiving dinner at Thursday's Drumstick Dash at Miller Park.
The motto of the event is to "move your feet, so others can eat." Participants have the option to walk or run because the event is really about feeding the hungry.
Now in its sixth year, the Drumstick Dash supports Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin with meals for those in need.
"I think people come back because they love the atmosphere here, we all love helping out and//everyone's just kind of helping each other and//it shows that Milwaukee is such a great city," said Brittany Vonckx with Feeding America.
There was also a costume contest. Runners got a free long-sleeved shirt and the opportunity to take pictures with Bernie Brewer who sported his Santa suit for the occasion.

"This year's event will be wonderful," said Jeff Graves, president of Vision Event Management. "We’ll have over 3,400 people out here raising money for Feeding America."
"We encourage for people to still come out and register, they can still bring food donations out here or they can just come out and drop off some food donations If they just want to come out and be a spectator.”
