Eight displaced by fire in Brookfield home

BROOKFIELD, WI (CBS 58) -- Eight people are being assisted by the Red Cross after they were displaced by a fire in their Brookfield home Saturday night.

The fire was reported around 6:50 PM on December 29 in a home at Meadow Court and Emerald Drive.   When Brookfield firefighters arrived, the second floor of the house was well-involved and the fire was extending to other sections of the building.   The residents of the home were able to evacuate the house before firefighters arrived. 

The New Berlin and Pewaukee fire departments and Elm Grove EMS assisted the Brookfield fire department at the scene.

There is no dollar estimate of the damage to the structure.   The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
