MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 17-year-old Racine boy has been taken into custody in connection with the June shooting death of 18-year-old Geovonnie Amie, the Mount Pleasant Police Department announced Tuesday, Sept. 15.
Ronald Rallo Franklin faces charges of attempted armed robbery and felony murder in connection with the June 24 incident in the 2200 block of Racine Street, according to police. Amie was shot before driving several blocks and crashing into a parked vehicle, where he was later found dead, police said at the time.
Members of the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, led by the U.S. Marshals Service, located Franklin in Chicago on Sept. 14 and took him into custody, according to police. He is being held at the Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center pending extradition to Wisconsin.
Franklin has not been convicted.
