MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- On Friday night, April 19, Sade Robinson’s family and friends honored her at a public vigil.

It was an emotional vigil as Robinson’s mother, sister, and other family members spoke about the young woman they’ve lost.

They were joined by dozens of friends and even strangers who wanted to honor her life and support her family.

Meanwhile, a sonar boat headed into Lake Michigan Friday to look for more clues.

Sade's sister Adrianna told the crowd through tears, "She went through a lot, even before she died. And she never let it break her. She was the strongest person I know."

The words and emotions cut through the wind Friday evening.

Her mother Sheena Scarbrough said, "From the bottom of my heart, and Sade's heart, we respectfully appreciate each and every one of you guys for being here with us."

Robinson's family expressed their grief over her loss, and their gratitude for the community's support.

The vigil united family and friends, coworkers, and even strangers.

Sade's cousin Keyana told the crowd, "A lot of y'all don't even know Sade. You've been every day searching."

The Hoan bridge also lit pink in honor of Robinson Friday night.

But the open investigation hung over the vigil.

Earlier in the day, a volunteer search and recovery team scanned parts of Lake Michigan for more clues between the areas where Robinson's leg, arm, and torso were found.

Keith Cormican, the founder of Bruce's Legacy Search & Recovery, told us, "I was really hoping it was going to be mostly sand. And it turned out to be mostly rock. It's going to be very difficult."

But nothing new was uncovered, and the underwater terrain was challenging.

In the meantime, Sade's loved ones are left to support each other and honor the life she led.

Her grandmother Linda Scarbrough said, "That big, beautiful smile she had. And I love her. She was My best friend, I will miss her."

It was announced at the vigil that a nonprofit foundation is being set up in Sade‘s name to help support the families of missing black women.

The family is planning a formal memorial service for May 10.
