Faulty support beams forces residents out of apartment building

CBS 58

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- People living in an apartment building are back in their homes after being forced to evacuate into the cold Thursday, Dec. 4.

It happened at a complex near Oakland and Bradford; a building inspector told CBS 58 the problem started in the underground parking garage.

They found two faulty and weak support beams, forcing them to evacuate the building. They installed four temporary beams to help keep the building stable.

The owner now has 30 days to make a permanent fix.
