MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- FBI Milwaukee announced the results of a multi-year criminal enterprise investigation Wednesday, called "Operation Chalkline."

They say the operation targeted a violent street gang in Milwaukee and Racine with direct connections to a major international cartel.

Special agents and task force officers arrested 22 people on federal charges, seized more than four kilograms of cocaine, 260 grams of fentanyl, 1.5 pounds of methamphetamine, six pounds of marijuana, 23 firearms, and three vehicles, according to the Milwaukee division.

Officials say the investigation was led by Mount Pleasant Police Department task force officers as part of the FBI Milwaukee Area Safe Streets Task Force. Several other local, state and federal law enforcement partners assisted, including 14 SWAT teams.

FBI Milwaukee says citizens are encouraged to report crime in their communities by calling local police or 1-800-CALL-FBI or by submitting tips online at tips.fbi.gov.
