Milwaukee residents possibly eligible for mold remediation assistance
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The city of Milwaukee continues its recovery with dealing with the aftermath of August's flooding, concerns about mold and how to deal with it have been raised.
In a news release, for most cases, people who have applied for FEMA assistance can get funds for mold remediation. FEMA doesn't cover the total cost of mold remediation but could help assist. Homeowners could also receive additional funds if there is a continuing mold problem, but a second inspection will need to be performed.
People could also be eligible for Clean and Sanitize Assistance, which provides a $300 one-time payment to assist in mold cleanup.
Disaster Recovery Centers are still open and could assist with any questions.
Homes that have been damaged by the floods could have mold growing until steps are taken to eliminate the source of moisture.
