MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- With Summerfest just one day away, crews have been working around the clock to get the grounds ready and to make sure everything goes well for the entire festival.
The doors open at the Summerfest Grounds at noon on Wednesday.
Officials say thousands of Summerfest employees are on the grounds working on finishing touches on landscaping, soundchecks, and of course, the food.
Organizers say it's all hands on deck at this point and crews are prepared to work long hours to make sure everything is just right.
The festival lasts 11 days and officials expect tens of thousands to attend.
"The day before the festival is always fun. We have a lot of folks still loading in and getting set. We have vendors coming from other festivals this past weekend so they're arriving. Our Ferris wheel just arrived yesterday so we have that up and going. There's a lot of finishing touches that need to be done and that's our focus for today," said Gayelin Littell, an Executive Producer at Summerfest.
