New video shows moment fire starts inside Lincoln Avenue School

Milwaukee Public Schools

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- CBS 58 News has obtained new surveillance video from a devastating fire in Milwaukee. The video, provided by Milwaukee Public Schools, shows the moment a fire started inside Lincoln Avenue School.

Investigators say the fire was sparked by the extreme heat and cleaning rags tossed in a garbage can.

From the first sign of flames, it took about eight minutes for the area to fill with black smoke.

The building was destroyed back in June.

Luckily, no one was hurt.

Hundreds of Lincoln Avene students will now attend Pulaski High School.
