MMSD has issued a water drop alert for Monday ahead of the incoming heavy rain. Reduce the amount of water you use on Monday to help prevent a sewer overflow. Run the dishwasher and washing machine tonight or hold off until Tuesday.

A widespread 1.5-2.5" of rain is still expected from 7am Monday through 7am Tuesday with locally higher totals possible lakeside and in any spot that sees multiple thunderstorms. No severe weather is expected.

There have been some light showers this afternoon across southeast Wisconsin, and we can't rule out a few more this evening into tonight, but rain will become moderate to heavy Monday into Monday night as an unseasonably strong area of low pressure tracks across southern Lake Michigan.

A Flood Watch has been issued for all of southeast Wisconsin for Monday from 7am -11pm. Widespread 1.50-2.50" of rain is expected across the region with localized higher totals of 3-5" not out of the question. Although all of southeast Wisconsin is in a moderate to extreme drought right now, the ground is hard due to the drought and can't soak up all of that rain. Main flooding concern will be due to runoff in urban and low-lying areas.

Moderate rain will overspread the area from west to east between 7-10am on Monday with embedded storms possible heading into the afternoon.

While the low tracks along the state line, there may be a period of dry weather in western counties, or at least Walworth county, later in the afternoon.

Rain will pick back up on the backside of this system during the evening, especially lakeside, before becoming lighter overnight and ending by early Tuesday morning.

The unseasonably strong low, large amount of water in the atmosphere, and onshore wind with the warm waters of Lake Michigan will all factor into enhancing rainfall at times.

Again, a widespread 1.5-2.5" of rain is expected between 7am Monday and 7am Tuesday with locally higher totals possible lakeside and near the Kettle Moraine.
