Flying ax penetrates windshield; nearly injures woman
MASSACHUSETTS -- Motorists on the Massachusetts highway had a frightening moment when an ax came crashing through their windshield.
According to Massachusetts State Police, a landscaper driving a dump truck didn't properly secure the ax. Around 11:00 a.m. on July 30, 2014, the ax came loose as the truck was driving on I-95.
The ax struck the windshield of the vehicle behind the truck. The person partially shown in the picture provided by state patrol was not injured just shaken up.
The driver was cited $200 for failure to secure cargo.
Police say the man driving the car was obeying speed limit laws. They say if he had been speeding it would have increased the power of the ax's impact. The axe could have passed completely through the glass injuring the passenger.
