FOND DU LAC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Only eight Wisconsin schools received high honors this year in the form of a "Blue Ribbon" award from the U.S. Department of Education. The recognition is based on a school's overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups on assessments. In the case of Evans Elementary, the measure of success has been based on test score improvement in the last five years.
Two other schools in our area, including Brookfield East High School and Willow Glen Primary School in St. Francis, were honored too.
On CBS 58 Sunday Morning, Michael Schlesinger visited Evans Elementary to learn what sets it apart.
