Waukesha County Sheriff\'s Department

FOX POINT, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A former Fox Point village manager is now charged with a felony in connection to a deadly crash last year.

Scott Botcher had previously been charged with a misdemeanor; he's now charged with hit-and-run resulting in death.

Prosecutors filed a new complaint Monday, Feb. 23, saying Botcher didn't stop after hitting a motorcyclist who had been thrown off his bike in a separate crash on I-94 in Waukesha back in June.

The rider, identified as 29-year-old Colton Jose from Sussex, died at the scene.

If convicted, Botcher could face up to 25 years in prison and a fine of $100,000.

He's due in court for a preliminary hearing March 18.
