MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Jerry Taff, longtime anchor for WISN 12 News in Milwaukee, has died. 

Taff was the head anchor at WISN 12 from 1979 to 2005. 

According to statement from WISN, Taff died in his home state of Texas on Oct. 27. He was 85. 

"Jerry was a beloved anchor during his 26 years at WISN 12. His impact on southeastern Wisconsin is immeasurable. Tonight, as we remember his legacy and the countless lives he touched, we're reminded of the words he left us with each evening."
