Free 'Chair City Celebration' offers art, music and history in Sheboygan
SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The "Chair City Celebration" is set to take place in the James Tellen Woodland Sculpture Garden, with a wide range of activities on offer. The John Michael Kohler Arts Center's event includes art creation, live music and historical presentations.
2023's celebration will take place on Sunday, Aug. 6, from 1-4 p.m., and will feature the indie rock band Cedarwell at 1 p.m., followed by the swing/folk duo Adrian + Meredith at 3 p.m.
There will also be the opportunity to create oven-bake clay sculptures and woodland creature cookies.
Walking tours led by local artist Jennifer Kaiser to her Cabin of Curiosities Clubhouse will be available at noon and 3 p.m., and Don Howlett of Preservation Services Ltd. will discuss the restoration of the sculpture Our Lady of Fatima.
Also presenting will be Alan Pape of Adaptive Preservation, discussing the history of the Brat Haus.
The event is free, but the Arts Center recommends reserving spaces for tours on their website due to limited capacity. Visitors are also welcome to purchase food and beverages from the Arts Center's Culinary Art Car.
