MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- SKILOS Pet Stores is teaming up with Fromm Family Foods and the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission to offer free microchipping and cover adoption fees at an in-store event Saturday, Feb. 28.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at SKILOS in Walker's Point. MADACC will have adoptable dogs on site, and Fromm will cover adoption fees for any dog adopted that day. A community microchip clinic runs from noon to 2 p.m., with free microchipping available while supplies last.
Zach Dewitt, owner of SKILOS, and Kate Hartlund, MADACC's community engagement and volunteer coordinator, joined CBS 58 on Monday, Feb. 23 to offer a preview.
The effort is part of the Fromm Give Back Weekend, a national program that connects neighborhood pet retailers with local shelters and rescue organizations.
