GLENDALE, Wis (CBS 58) -- New dashcam and bodycam video shows the chaos at Bayshore Mall in Glendale on Sunday, March 29.
A “teen takeover” resulted in people gathering on streets throughout the mall, fights and 14 arrests, according to Glendale Police.
“They were happening in other cities,” Glendale Mayor Bryan Kennedy said. “It just happened to be our turn, I think I was surprised that they chose Bayshore.”
Video shows the fights, police officers using pepper spray and even one person running away from officers.
“It happened one time, this is not something you see every weekend, it’s not something you see every day,” Kennedy said.
Angie Rourke works at a shop in Bayshore Mall. She was not there on Sunday but is still feeling the impact of the takeover.
“Hopefully, something like this will never happen again,” Rourke said. “It’s an awareness now and I think a lot of people have that same awareness of, ya know, 'Is it safe now?'”
