From Les Miz to Big Frank to Ben Tajnai, Brewers World Series run inspires fans to make music
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Brewers' World Series run has inspired a lot of talented, creative people in Wisconsin. We've seen muralists, clothing designers, great costumes and some great music.
You DO hear the people sing, and it's not just roll out the barrel. It is the music of a people, a fan base, who will not be denied again.
This Brewers team is inspiring Brewers fans/music artists of all kinds from all over Wisconsin.
Mike Travia, the Oostburg Middle and High School choir director dropped his Les Miz-iorowski tribute just before Jacob Misiorowski's World Series game one start.
"Do you hear the hitters swing when the Miz is on the mound." Travia sings at one point to the tune of 'Do You Hear the People Sing?'.
"The radar gun is hitting numbers never seen before, it just hit 103 and now the next one's 104." goes another part of the song.
"I wrote the parody because last August," Travia said. "I saw a meme of the Les Mis Musical logo with Misiorowski's picture super imposed on it and I thought that was funny."
"The Tampa fans are probably wetting their paaaants." Travia sings going into the big finale.
Well-established Milwaukee-based rapper Big Frank remixed one of his biggest tracks, 'There it is' into a new Brewers anthem.
"Big Frank, Brew Crew we got player in it, sweep the other side they ain't got no flavor in it." he raps.
"The song came about," said Big Frank (real name, Frank Lee). "I seen a Facebook status, somebody said Frank should remix his 'There It Is' song and change it up, and make it into a Brewers song."
"We ain't stop until we champions, bring that trophy with..." goes the song.
"Brewers win man, the city wins." Big Frank said, echoing a familiar sentiment from all three artists featured in this story. "You gotta remember we ain't been up in here in 44 years."
"We gon' win the Series cuz the team need a ring."
Ben Tajnai, a talented tenor who brought the house down repeatedly singing the National Anthem during the Milwaukee Bucks title run and has sung at plenty of Brewers and Packers games, posted his Brewers fan tribute 'Bring It Home Milwaukee' just before game one. It had a million views by the next morning.
"Bring it Home Milwaukee, let the whole world know our name." Tajnai sings near the beginning.
"I'm a Wisconsin sports fan and then some." said Tajnai. "Just super excited that the Brewers are here and I felt super inspired that I had to write something."
"Let's Go. Win the whole thing."
The Brewers stirring some talented fans to add to what everyone hopes is a blue-and-gold record World Series soundtrack.
