WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Bake Sale is ready to add some festive foods to your holiday dinner or party. They have cookie platters with a variety of traditional cookies and holiday favorites.

"We have chocolate chip, we have ginger snap, chocolate crinkle cookies, we have peppermint meringue," said Allison Collard, the lead baker at The Bake Sale.

And of course, lots of sugar cookies shaped and decorated.

Friday is the last day to place an order ahead of time, but you can walk in daily to check out their selection of sweet treats, including the popular peppermint pies.

If you're doing some baking yourself, Collard has one big tip: chill your dough.

"I’m sure everyone’s seen it before- - when you put cookies in the oven and it’s just a big blob when you take it out, so you just want it to keep its shape," she said. "Pre-make your dough and let it chill. It’s best to chill overnight. But if you need to speed up the process, at least let it chill for three hours."

The Bake Sale opens at 6:30 a.m. Monday-Saturday and Sundays at 8 a.m.
