MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The battle against breast cancer is an ongoing fight, with the Susan G. Komen Foundation set to take another step next weekend, with CBS 58 serving as a proud sponsor of the event.
The More Than Pink walk for Southeast Wisconsin is taking place on Sunday, Oct. 9. Not only is it an opportunity to raise money to fund the important research that will eventually end breast cancer, it also offers an opportunity for people around the area to share stories, remember loved ones who have been lost to breast cancer and support those in-need of the strength to take on the battle right now.
Nikki Panico, executive director of Komen Wisconsin, joined us on Wednesday, Sept. 28 to discuss the significance of the walk.
The walk will take place on Sunday, Oct. 9 at Henry Maier Festival Park. More information, along with registration information or simply how to donate to the cause, can all be found online.
Our own Natalie Shepherd will serve as emcee, with gates opening at 7 a.m., an opening ceremony at 9 and the walk beginning at 9:15.
Stay tuned to CBS 58 for continued coverage.
