Good Samaritans rescue man from Racine house fire

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Three bystanders may have saved a man's life from a fire this morning, on July 30, in Racine.

The fire department says three people saw a man stuck on the second-floor balcony of a home near 20th and Case with heavy smoke already billowing out.

The good Samaritans got a ladder and extended it up to the man, allowing him to climb down safely.

The fire department says the victim's injuries are serious.

There were no working smoke alarms in the home.
