Gov. Evers approves $21 million I-43 resurfacing project in Sheboygan County
CBS 58 SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Construction on a 10.4-mile stretch of I-43 between the town of Wilson and the town of Sheboygan begins Monday, March 2, according to the governor's office.
The project covers pavement resurfacing, maintenance on nine bridges, sign structure replacement, guardrail updates and slope grading. Drivers should expect reduced lanes in both directions along with local and ramp closures throughout the construction period.
Lane closures on I-43 run from mid-March through July, with intermittent closures continuing through November, according to a Monday, Feb. 23 press release. Ramps at WIS 23 will close for 35 working days in July and August for bridge work, and ramps at County V, WIS 28 and WIS 42 will each close for up to two consecutive days during paving.
The project is expected to wrap up by late October or early November.
