WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- Governor Tony Evers declared Friday, Dec. 5, an Energy Emergency in Wisconsin.

This is due to persistent challenges following a pipeline disruption and high demand during the winter months for heating fuel.

In the press release, Gov. Evers stated, "I'm declaring this energy emergency to ensure folks and families across the state have the fuel they need to stay warm and safe."

The executive order allows for the "swift and efficient delivery" of energy products during this time of year.

The order will remain in effect through January 2nd.
