Hair stylist robbed, had car stolen while at work

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Bay View hair stylist’s car is stolen from outside the salon for the second time in less than two years.

The employee’s car was parked on Kinnickinnic Avenue outside of Get Dolled Up Beauty Lounge when it was stolen Thursday evening.

“I just can’t believe it,” the employee told CBS 58.

Around 7:30 p.m. two teens with their hoods up walked into the salon and asked to use the bathroom.

The salon’s bathroom is connected to the employee break room. The employee said the teens went in in the break room and stole $200 cash, her car key, and her wallet from her purse.

After taking the key, the salon’s security cameras capture one of the teens standing near the window possibly trying to see where the car is parked, while his accomplice takes his turn in the bathroom.

Then the boys leave, smiling on their way out.

A few minutes later you can see the car pulling away.

Shortly after, the employee realized her car was gone.

“I just immediately freaked out,” she said.

The car is a grey Audi A5 Quattro with the license plate 428XAE.

The same car had been stolen from the same spot about 18 months ago while it was warming up in the winter.

“I don’t even know what to feel,” the employee said. “I just feel so taken advantage of and disgusted in these teenagers.”

A lesson she hopes others can learn from.

“You should always have your personal belongings on you at all times because you never know what’s going to happen.”

Milwaukee Police are still looking for the suspects.
