UW Health joins CBS 58 to talk the latest health headlines
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Monday, Nov. 11 is Veteran's Day. But the Harley Davidson Museum is celebrating early.
As a gesture for their sacrifice, through tomorrow, all veterans, active-duty military, and their families can get in for free.
"We are the land of the free because of those brave folks, and this is one way we get to say thank you," said Tim McCormick, communications project manager at the museum.
And this is no one off, Harley Davidson has a long history of military support that stretches back more than a century.
Their engineers were first called up to help in 1916. That was during a skirmish between US and Mexican troops. That relationship continued through World War II.
"World War II. We were very fortunate to win a military contract to produce tens of thousands of those WLA motorcycles," said McCormick. "A lot of people like to refer to those as the bikes that won the war, really just a rich partnership that we love to support our U.S. Military."
The museum's free admission deal goes through tomorrow. All you need to get in is your military ID or proof of service.
