HAWS of Waukesha caring for 7-month-old dog found weighing less than 10 pounds

WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- HAWS in Waukesha is caring for a 7-month-old dog who was found weighing less than 10 pounds.

Near the end of August, some concerned citizens located a dog who was 'literally skin and bones' wandering in a Waukesha County parking lot.

The puppy was also vomiting up pieces of plastic.

HAWS’ veterinarians ran tests and did extensive exams and monitoring, and found all results to be normal.

Just a few weeks after her arrival, the dog has started gaining weight and is now up to 14 pounds.

She is happy, and responding well to treatment…and TLC, of course, HAWS says.

They've named the dog Bethenny. She will be in foster care until she makes a full recovery. One of the citizens who found her is considering adopting her so not applications for her adoption are being accepted at this time.

If you'd like to donate, HAWS has a link on their Facebook page.
