'He was only a kid': Family, friends remember 16-year-old homicide victim

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Family and friends of a teenager shot and killed Wednesday night, May 5, remembered him Thursday on Milwaukee's north side. 

"He was loving, he was sweet, he was only a kid. He was going to school every day," said Ariyanna Watkins. 

A balloon release and vigil was held near Hampton and Fond Du Lac for the young man. 

His family identifies him as 16-year-old Rodney Armstrong. 

MPD says they were called to the area of 50th and Burleigh around 10 p.m. Wednesday night, where they found Armstrong, who later died from his injuries. 

The shooting happened at 68th and Fond Du Lac. 

Police are looking for suspects.
