The heat is here! High temps reached the low 70s on Monday for our second day in the 70s this month! And the heat isn't going anywhere for at least a few more days! April averages three days in the month at or above 70* and we likely get at least double that by the end of this week. The record number of 70* days in the month is 11 which we could make a run at.
Tuesday should be well into the 70s with 80* a possibility on both Wednesday and Thursday. Still warm for the end of the week as well with highs on Saturday in the 60s still 10* above-average.
We are officially on record watch. The record for Tuesday in the low 80s is probably safe but Wednesday's forecast high is only a couple degrees away from the record and right now a high of 80* on Thursday would break the 100+ year record high.
Enjoy the unusually summer-like warmth while we have it because it won't last. The 6-10 day temperature outlook shows a 40-50% chance for below-average temperatures. That would be the beginning to middle of next week when the average highs are in the mid 50s. Right now highs look to stay around 50* during that time.
