MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- There's a Milwaukee program that gives Christmas presents to children in need. It's called the Holiday Giving Tree program.
A Christmas tree has been put up at Wellpoint Care Network, located at 8901 West Capitol Drive, that has tags with holiday gift wishes from kids here in Milwaukee.
Donators can go to Wellpoint and pick up a tag, then purchase the gift and bring it back by Friday, Dec. 12, so the gifts can be sent out in time for Christmas.
Milwaukee Alderman Lamont Westmoreland was there Monday, Dec. 1, and explained how they aim to keep the project growing in years to come.
"We had 100 tags last year, the year we doubled that to 200, and the goal is to increase that as the need rises," said Westmoreland. "This is something that gives families that extra boost."
