On Monday, the city of Milwaukee will be hosting their Fourth of July celebration. There will be parades, picnics, and fireworks scheduled at parks across the city.Â
Fire officials and health experts are reminding people to leave fireworks to the professionals. Firework shows are back this year in a lot of communities and it is important to note that most fireworks are illegal to use at home.
Milwaukee Alderwoman Nikiya Dodd issued a statement on Sunday asking people to show respect for neighbors, kids, and pets, and to not set fireworks off at home. If you are caught using them in the city, you can be fined up to a thousand dollars.Â
