High-speed crash kills driver, 4 passengers treated

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a car crash that happened on Tuesday, Jan. 10 around 2:44 a.m. near 35th and Hayes.

A 23-year-old Milwaukee woman was driving north on 35th at a high rate of speed when she tried to pass another car on the right.

The Milwaukee Police Department reports that she lost control and hit a light pole and a fire hydrant. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

This car was also carrying four passengers, all from Milwaukee: a 30-year-old woman, a 33-year-old woman, a 12-year-old girl and a seven-year-old boy. They were all treated at the scene by paramedics.

Police say this investigation is ongoing.
