MILWAUKEE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- High winds have damaged several downtown Milwaukee buildings and cars Saturday.
Milwaukee Police Department says the 700 block of N Van Buren Street is closed after the winds blew several panels off the bottom of the skywalk to the new Northwestern Mutual Building. The panels landed on and damaged a parked car. The MPD expects the street to be closed to traffic until sometime Sunday morning.
High winds also blew some materials off a building under construction at N Prospect Avenue and E Kenilworth Place. The material crashed down on the roof of a parked car, causing heavy damage to the car.
Police report that no one was injured in either of the incidents.
Wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour have been recorded in Milwaukee Saturday.
