MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Police are trying to sort out the details from a chaotic afternoon in a south side neighborhood.

"I heard five gunshots, I just work up on my bed and looked out the window, saw a dude shot in his car, it's like wow. It's crazy," said Alexcia Gonzalez.

It started when a man was shot and killed near 6th and Hayes Tuesday. Police were investigating that incident when a  car accident happened two blocks away. Two groups could be seen from a distance, shouting at each other.

A short time later, there was physical fighting, one person was thrown to the ground, some trying to jump in while police tried to restrain others.

The chaos moved to different spots. One police officer could be seen drawing his gun while one person went down to the pavement. It's unclear whether the person was ordered or if he did it on his own.

FBI personnel were seen in the area and eventually, police got the scene under control.

So far, authorities are saying very little about what happened. Stay with CBS 58 on air and online for updates in this developing story.
