CBS 58 SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Drivers on Interstate 43 in Sheboygan County should prepare for lane closures starting Thursday, March 19 as a long-term resurfacing and bridge maintenance project begins, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
WisDOT says a single lane will be closed long-term on northbound I-43 from WIS 28 to WIS 42 and on southbound I-43 from WIS 42 to WIS 28. The restrictions will remain in place for the duration of the project.
A 14-foot-wide restriction will also be in effect at the I-43 bridges over WIS 23 while work is underway.
Officials say drivers will encounter reduced lanes in both directions through fall 2026 as crews resurface pavement and perform maintenance on nine bridges.
