IAM members on strike at Molson Coors in Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- – The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Midwest Territory announced a strike at Molson Coors Beverage Company in Milwaukee on Wednesday, Oct. 2.
According to a release, 43 IAM members at Molson Coors voted to reject the company's final offer and voted to strike on Tuesday, Oct. 1, as the contract expired at midnight. They said the main issues driving the strike are the wages not keeping up with inflation, as well as work/life balance.
Molson Coors' Chief Communications Officer Adam Collins released the following statement regarding the strike:
“We’ve made a competitive offer that exceeds local-market rates for similar unionized roles and we’re hopeful for a resolution that benefits everyone. In the meantime, we don’t expect an impact to the availability of our products at retail.”
