Ice Castles won't return to Lake Geneva this winter season

LAKE GENEVA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Ice Castles will not return to Wisconsin this winter season.

A Facebook post shared Wednesday, Oct. 19, says organizers' "hearts are melting" sharing the news.

Ice Castles brought thousands of visitors to Lake Geneva showcasing sculptures, slides, caverns, tunnels and crawl spaces made entirely from ice.

The milder winters we've experienced the last few years forced the winter wonderland attraction to open later and close earlier than anticipated.

The post from Ice Castles says, "we’re excited for new adventures on the horizon!"

As to what the future holds, we'll have to wait and see!
