Saturday Evening Update: Focus shifts to lakeside snow & then extreme cold
Update as of 5:30 p.m. Saturday...
It looks like the bulk of the heavy snow has stopped. But we now focus our attention on snow caused by lake enhancement. If fact, we could get a few more inches, especially lakeside, over the course of the next day. This is why we have a lingering Winter Weather Advisory until 6 a.m. Sunday for Sheboygan County. Then, as we get into Sunday night, the intense cold starts to take over the area. So make sure you've removed all the snow on your sidewalks and driveways. Otherwise it'll freeze fast. Highs by Monday only around 10! There will be lots of subzero wind chill numbers too this coming week.

Update as of noon on Saturday
Most of the snow this morning has stayed north of I-94, but I think the gap will fill in as we proceed through the afternoon and evening. In fact a few additional inches could fall into Sunday. Then the lake enhancement starts to take over for lakeside communities. Most of this should die down into the early afternoon hours of Sunday but not before giving us totals of 5 to 7 plus inches. The Arctic air follows the snow into next week.

There's a lull in the action, but snow will increase by midday on Saturday across the metro...

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58)--The snow we received on Valentine's Day (4"+ for many) will continue for most of the Presidents Day weekend except on Monday itself. We could easily get another 2 to 4 inch amounts on top of what we've seen with perhaps higher totals along the lakeside communities with lake enhancement later Saturday and Sunday. After the snowfall, look for much colder weather to set in late Sunday and last through much of this coming week. Highs during the upcoming week will be mainly in the single digits and teens! Lows at night will be subzero for many. Of course any wind will make it feel much colder. Looks like it'll stay below freezing for at least a week.
