MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- In less than a month IndyCar will roar into the Milwaukee Mile.
Kyle Kirkwood is third in the points with three wins but well behind front running Alex Palou.
"Typically, in this situation? You would think that we would be going for a title," Kyle Kirkwood says. "But there's been one guy who's made it extra hard to do so."
Kirkwood went on to say:
"Looking at it, it looks dated. It looks like, you're not really sure how to explain it. You can just tell it's one of the oldest race circuits in the U.S., right? But once you get on the track with an IndyCar and you actually get into the racing format? It is so much fun to race on because there's multiple lanes. It's kind of mayhem. It's kind of, if I'm being honest, it's hard to follow because you end up losing a lap or two in a pit sequence and then you kind of drive back through the field to get back onto the lead lap. And it can look pretty confusing. And for us it can be pretty confusing but nonetheless there's just cars that are passing nonstop. And it just looks so cool to the eyes of the viewer when we have races like that on ovals. We were good at Milwaukee last year. We were good at Nashville last year so they're two great races for us on the calendar and we'll take what we can get, and we'll be satisfied if we know that we maximized our performances at those two races."
