MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Somebody could be starting the new year with new wealth.

The Powerball drawing is Monday night, and after yet another rollover, it's up to $540 million.

Nothing like a new year to dream big. We talked to dreamers Monday, and the sky's their limit.

"It would be a blessing. I would help everybody," said Sheila Davis.

Davis has big plans for that money.

"I'm trying to turn my house, a six bedroom, into a home to help some homeless people. That's what I want to do," said Davis. "I have a giving heart. Who knows what God may do about this Powerball."

While some dream of endless vacations away from this cold, others say it's a beautiful home, rockin' sports car or a yacht. But overall, those in the Milwaukee area were givers.

"Make sure everybody good family-wise," said Robert Davidson.

"My grandma's been playing for like 20 years, 20 years. But I've been for only like three or four years," said Michael Bush.

It's been almost three months since someone won the Powerball jackpot. That was a single ticket in California, worth nearly $700 million.

"I've got an uncle and an aunt and they run the same numbers for years, but I like to do it randomly -- just boom! Somebody told me the odds are one in 297-million to win the jackpot," said Sam Harris. "Doesn't that sound crazy? That's ridiculous. That's a big number and I'm putting my ticket in to be that one person."

They say the things that matter most in life take hard work. There have been 38 drawings in a row without a jackpot winner, so dreamers say that's enough work, and tonight's the night to make it happen.
