MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Summerfest officially kicked off its nine days of music on Thursday.
"Summerfest has always been good to me, good to my family. It's just a great place to be," Milwaukee resident Jeremy Reynolds said.
The "World's Largest Music Festival" attracts people from around the country. Sarah Schwentker told CBS 58 that she decided to visit after learning about the festival from friends.
"We wanted to make a whole weekend out of it. We've never been to Milwaukee, so we wanted to see what it's all about," she said. "It's awesome. We think we picked the best weekend to come."
Many exciting things happen during Summerfest that keep fans coming back year after year, but the biggest draw is the non-stop music.
"I think it's a great opportunity for people to be able to perform at Summerfest," Milwaukee resident Victoria Alvarez said. "We have the larger bands that are here. We have small local artists who also have an opportunity to share what they're doing as well. So, I think it's a fair playing ground for everyone to show their talents."
Summerfest runs from June 20-22, 27-29, and July 4-6.
